The XXI Iberian Meeting on Enteroscopy and Capsule Endoscopy (RICE 2024), organized by Medtronic, Fujifilm, and Olympus, took place on January 18th and 19th in Barcelona. During the event, professionals dedicated to enteroscopy and Capsule Endoscopy discussed its current and future applications.

On Thursday afternoon, among many other activities, a roundtable on panendoscopy with capsule was held, in which doctors Miguel Muñoz Navas (ESP), José Cotter (POR), Rami Eliakim (ISR), Bruno Rosa (POR), and Ignacio Fernández-Urién (ESP), CEO of Owl Eyes Academy, discussed the importance of the endoscopic capsule in current scenarios such as digestive bleeding and inflammatory bowel disease.

On Friday afternoon, the Owl Eyes Academy Awards for the best Abstract and the best Clinical Case were presented. During this ceremony, Dr. Fernández-Urién, accompanied by Dr. Begoña González, the event organizer, awarded two scholarships for the a2025 Capsule Endoscopy Training Course. The scholarships winners were Joao Afonso (POR) and Noelia Alonso (ESP), recognizing their excellence in medical research.
